Deze week heeft vooral in het teken gestaan van de Gail Pan Bom, hoewel er ook nog wel wat anders uit mijn handen gekomen is. Allereerst een mandje, waar ik na mijn vorige blogje meteen aan begonnen was, met het idee dat ik die dan tenminste alvast had. Daar bleef het wel bij, dus ziet het er een beetje zielig uit, één zo'n mandje.This week was the week of the Gail Pan Bom, however I did make something else, too. After writing my last blog I first made a trick or treat basket, with the idea that I at least had one done. But it seems a little lonely at its own.
Daarna begon ik met het in elkaar zetten van de Christmas Wish. Bij Gail en bij anderen zag ik randen van vierkantjes, maar ik vond het moeilijk bij de reproductiestoffen die ik gebruikt heb andere stoffen te vinden, tenminste, in mijn eigen voorraad. Dus heb ik een andere sterrenstof, die ik een paar jaar geleden tegelijk met de stof die ik als achtergrond voor de applicaties gebruikte kocht, te gebruiken als tussenrand en daarna dezelfde stoffen die om de wishes zitten, als rand te gebruiken. Ik hoop dat het resultaat een beetje leuk is geworden tot nu toe. Ik besloot er ook iets boven te maken. Dus de twee engeltjes die een hart vasthouden gezocht en gemaakt, wat ik wel mooi vind voor de kerst. Doordat ik sashings heb gemaakt, moet ik nu ook de rand(en) om de stitchery verbreden en wat dacht je wat... nu kom ik alweer stof voor de rand tekort! Gelukkig heb ik nog rode stippeltjesstof, die eigenlijk voor Leanne's House gebruikt werd (een Ufo) die eventueel als rand kan dienen. Als het genoeg is tenminste, haha.After that I began putting together the Christmas Wishes. Because I chose to make sashings, I have to make borders round the application and now...I have not enough fabric! Fortunately I found a red fabric with dots, matching with the other fabric, it is for Leanne's House (an Ufo), perhaps it can become a border. If it is enough of course... (LOL).
Ik heb nog wat tijd gemaakt voor de volgende rij sterren van Guute's AQ, ik geniet er weer van het resultaat te zien. Ik heb op de AQ-site op Yahoo zelfs al een foto gezien van AQ quilt die klaar is, al heeft Guute die patronen helemaal nog niet gegeven. Ik hoop dat Guute het zich niet aantrekt, maar persoonlijk vind ik het wel jammer.I made some time to sew the next star-row of Guute's Antique Quilt, I like to see the result. NenneDesign had een paar weken geleden een giveaway, vier borduurwerkjes van modeprentjes van de jaren 50 en... ik heb er één gewonnen! Ik koos voor een jurk uit 1955, die vond ik het meest lijken op de jurken die ik begin jaren 60 als heel jong meisje droeg. Ik kreeg vandaag bericht dat het onderweg is, ik verheug me er al op, leuk hoor! Foto volgt.
NenneDesign had a giveaway some weeks ago, four embroideries of dresses from the fifties and... I won one! I chose the dress from 1955, which looks like the dresses I wore as a very young girl in the first years of the sixties. She posted it today and I expect to receive it tomorrow, I like it!!!
Zaterdag gaan Marijke (geen blog) en ik naar de tentoonstelling van het Quiltersgilde in Alkmaar. Ria kan niet mee, ze heeft net een nieuwe flat. Anders reizen we met haar mee met 40% korting, maar gelukkig kon ik gisteren nog twee kaartjes bij het Kruidvat kopen voor 12,49 Euro, dus dat is een meevaller.
This Saturday Marijke (no blog) and I go to the Quiltexhibition of the Quiltersgilde which is in Alkmaar this time. We go by train. Quiltfriend Ria cannot come with us, she is busy, she is busy with her new flat.
Als laatste een golden oldie, het oktoberquiltje, dat ik bij de toenmalige quiltwinkel van Ria Borgstrom, The Quilter's Corner in Vlaardingen, als blok van de maand kocht. Het was een serie, waarvoor je één groter quiltje maakte als achtergrond, die met de vierkantjes, en waar je dan elke maand een ander quiltje aan ophing, zoals je nu de huisjes ervoor gebruikt. Ik vind ze nog steeds leuk, het hangt nu in mijn keuken.At last a golden oldy, the October-quilt, which I bought at The Quilter's Corner in Vlaardingen, when I was a beginning quilter. It was a block of the month, first you made a somewhat bigger background quilt, that's the one with the little squares and each month you made another quilt to hang on it.
