Hoewel de week in het teken stond van quilten, zijn er toch twee mandjes bijgekomen, de kleuren gekozen om de quilt wat op te fleuren. Als ik de foto's op het scherm zie verschijnen, vind ik de linkerkant toch weer wat naar beneden wijzen, al begin ik nu aan de andere kant met naaien. Maar gelukkig is het in het echt lang zo erg niet en nu laat ik het maar zo.This week I did much quilting, but I also made two more baskets. I chose these colours to brighten up the quilt. Although the left side is pointing down a little, in real it looks much better.
De laatste sterrenrand van Guute's AQ zit er ook aan, fijn dat het gebeurd is, nu nog een border en dan kan ik aan een nieuwe rand beginnen.The row of stars of Guute's AQ is finished, I'm glad it's over now and soon can start a new row.
De duo penotti is niet zo ver gekomen als ik wilde, de twee rijen blokken zitten aan elkaar, maar zijn nog niet aan de top genaaid. Maar volgende keer (misschien) beter.I put the blocks for two rows of the duo penotti quilt together, but didn't sew them to the top. But perhaps next week.
Hier kwam het allemaal door, de Gail Pan Quilt. Handquilten kost nu eenmaal tijd. Met ons vijven gaan we zaterdag naar de regiodag in Pijnacker, waar ik hem wil laten zien. Ria en Marijke nemen ook hun Moda mandjes quilt mee, dus neem ik die van mij ook maar mee, al heb ik nog maar één mand gequilt. Het is leuk, dat we alle drie dezelfde quilt hebben gemaakt en dat ze toch alle drie anders zijn.The handquilting on the Gail Pan quilt took much time. Next
Saturday five of our quiltbee go to a quiltday organized by the Dutch Quilters Guild and at the Show and Tell I will show it. Ria and Marijke take their Moda basket quilt, so I take it, too, although I just have quilted one basket. But the three of us made the quilt, we used the same fabric an still all three have a different quilt. So it is nice to show them at the same time.Deze week geen Sweet Memories, je kunt tenslotte niet alles. Ik ben wel begonnen met de kerstruil, maar het wordt nog niet wat ik wil, maar gelukkig heb ik nog een maand. Ik vind het altijd moeilijk om iets voor anderen te maken/kopen en door al mijn getwijfel wordt het toch niet wat ik beoogde. Maar ik doe mijn best.
No Sweet Memories this week, one cannot do everyting. I did begin with the 'kerstruil' (Christmas-swap), however it did not work out as I wanted, but fortunately I have one month left to make and/or buy five things beginning with the letters of the word 'kerst', which means Xmas. I'll send it to another quilter and will receive five things from a quilter which is not the one I'll send my presents. It is always difficult to find things to make/buy for someone else for me, but I'll do my best.Tot volgende keer, till next time,
